K.A.M.I. Canada is not an independent school teaching its own interpretation of Krav Maga. We are a branch of a recognized Israeli system with a documented lineage, a governing association and a formal certification path — and every instructor on our mat has been through it.
Instruction in self-defence is largely unregulated. Anyone can print a certificate, and plenty do. So rather than ask you to trust us, this page shows you exactly who certifies our instructors, who governs our grading, and where to check both for yourself.

K.A.M.I. Canada appears on the worldwide branch directory published by the Israeli Krav Magen Association in Israel, with Sergey Baskin named as the instructor and kravmagen.ca as the branch website. It is their page, not ours, and we cannot edit it. That is the point.

Our instructors hold Israeli instructor licences issued through the Levinsky-Wingate Academic College in Israel. That is a real institution with a real address, real degrees and real standards — and it is checkable, which is the whole point of naming it.
The college was formed in March 2022 by the merger of two long-standing schools: Levinsky College of Education, operating since 1912, and Wingate Academic College, operating since 1944. Its Wingate campus in Netanya is the physical-education side of the college — it grants the bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in physical education, master’s degrees in sport training sciences, and runs the college’s certification programs.

This matters because certification in the self-defence world is largely unregulated. An instructor licence issued through Levinsky-Wingate is an academic credential from an accredited institution. It is not a certificate somebody printed after a weekend course, and the difference is not cosmetic — it is the difference between a standard someone else set and a standard someone set for themselves.
Governed by K.A.M.I. — the Israeli Krav Magen Association
We operate under K.A.M.I. (Krav Magen Israeli), the association in Israel that owns, develops and governs the K.A.M.I. system worldwide. It was founded in 1989 by Eli Avikzar, the first person in the world to earn a black belt in Krav Maga, who headed the Israel Defense Forces’ Krav Maga section for twelve years. Since his death in 2004 the association has been led by Grand Master Avi Abeceedon — a red belt, Dan 10, and the first black belt Avikzar ever awarded.

Being a branch means our syllabus, our grading and our belt requirements are not ours to invent. Ranks earned on our mat are association ranks, and they are recognized at any K.A.M.I. branch in Israel or anywhere else in the world.
The system we teach
K.A.M.I. is built on the natural movements of the human body, and it is designed to be simple, fast and efficient. The method is structured in three parts, and four principles run underneath all of them.

What this means for you
Your instructor is qualified
Not self-declared. Our instructors hold Israeli instructor licences issued through the Levinsky-Wingate Academic College — an accredited institution that grants degrees, not a weekend seminar that issues a certificate.
Your rank travels
Grading here follows the K.A.M.I. syllabus, so a belt earned in Vaughan is an association rank. It is recognized at any K.A.M.I. branch in Israel or anywhere else in the world.
The syllabus is not ours to invent
Being a branch means our curriculum, grading and belt requirements are set and maintained in Israel, and reviewed there against the experience of thousands of students. Nothing here is one school’s interpretation.
